Ross Mosier began studying piano at the age of seven and has since constantly pursued his love for music and has become an accomplished pianist, organist, collaborative musician, and educator. Originally from Wyoming, Ross began studying piano with his next-door neighbor and immediately fell in love with the instrument. Later after his family moved to Nebraska, he began studying with Dr. Mark Clinton while in high school, with whom he completed his Bachelor of Music in piano performance under at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Along the way, Ross picked up organ and has been studying that instrument and playing at churches extensively since then. Ross completed his Master of Music in piano performance at the University of Kansas, studying with Dr. Yi-Yang Chen. Currently, Ross is a Doctoral student at the University of North Texas studying with Dr. Liudmila Georgievskaya.
As a performer, Ross has performed all throughout the Midwest and internationally where he made his European debut playing the Schumann Piano Concerto with the Tarnów Chamber Orchestra in Tarnów, Poland. Recently, Ross was the first-place winner of the Kansas MTNA Young Artist Competition (2023) and has also competed in contemporary chamber music competitions and been invited to perform at the Cortona Sessions for New Music. As a teacher, Ross believes in approaching learning with an open mind, curiosity to learn new things and experiment, and most of all- always foster the lifelong love of music. He is always excited to talk about music, make music together with his students, and have fun doing so while simultaneously learning as much as we possibly can together. Ross values life-long learning and strongly believes that his primary responsibility as a good teacher is to learn and grow alongside his students in their musical journey.
